Spring Cleaning

This past Sunday, my five grandchildren and two of my daughters helped clean up the front pasture.  With rakes and pails in hand, everyone worked diligently and enthusiastically as they picked up rocks, sticks, dried thistle and pieces of wood shingles from the old corn crib - which was torn down last year. What a fun day it was! They all worked so hard - and with smiles on their faces. Box after carboard box, as well as empty feed bags, were filled with debris. It would have been quite the chore without all of their help.  The task at hand went from a drudgingly boring chore, to a family fun day. Everyone had smiles.  There was hearty laughter and little girl giggles. There was "lets do this together" and "let me help you."  There was teamwork and task sharing.  I loved seeing all of the cooperation between the kids - and, us adults pitching in.  When done with those you love, even the most menial work is fun. The pasture looks great - and just in time for all of this wonderful spring rain we've been having. A big thanks to these wonderful little (and big) people I love.
